Platinum Jubilee Village Events

Join in with Ruddington events to celebrate Her Majesty the Queen’s record breaking reign from Thursday 2nd to Sunday 5th June.

To mark the Platinum Jubilee our village has been been decorated with red, white and blue flowers, ribbons, flags and yarn bombing displays.

This weekend the Green will be home to a tree-planting ceremony (at Saturday’s Ruddington Village Market) plus a community picnic, followed by games and live music, for all to enjoy. Also there are lots of events involving dancing, crafting, eating and drinking at various village venues.

Here are some highlights for TODAY – Friday 3rd June:

  • 8.30am – 4pm Mini cream tea, Afternoon tea: Jasper’s Cafe
  • 9am – 9pm Craft-ernoon Tea, Ploughman’s Lunch: Jubilee Pitcher’s & Cocktails | Pizza van on at lunchtime

Ruddington’s long weekend of events will also see a “Memory Tree’ on The Green, plus a display about the history of the Ruddington WI inside the Framework Knitters’ Museum (FKM) – and it will also have some big Jubilee plans in and around its Chapel Street venue. Have you read about the unique knitted Jubilee Banner commissioned by the FKM? Don’t miss seeing the giant artwork paraded on Sunday the 5th of June.
